Hey there! We’re ecstatic to share the exciting details of the highly anticipated “Cooking for the Stars” event, brought to you by Umami Shop Canada and STARS Air Ambulance.
On February 4, 2023, the live cooking show was filmed on location in the gorgeous kitchen of the Stars Lottery Home built by Van Arbor homes. It was a collaboration between Umami Shop, Subaru of Lethbridge, Kasko Cattle, and Van Arbor, with 100% of the proceeds from ingredient kits going towards the lifesaving work of STARS.
Patricia and Sven, the dynamic duo behind Umami Shop, served as the hosts and were joined by a special guest cook, Jon Gogan, the provincial operations director for Alberta and aircraft captain with STARS. Jon brought not only his culinary skills to the kitchen, but also a deeper understanding of the important work that STARS does every day.
The evening’s menu was a delicious surf and turf dish, featuring juicy steak and plump shrimp paired with a hollandaise sauce inspired by the sunny yellow accents of the kitchen. The dish was amazing, but it was the passion, creativity, and talent of the hosts and guests that made the event truly unforgettable.
